Sphere it
As you may have already seen, Sphere, a brand new blog search engine was announced in the past week. The new engine takes an algorithmic approach to blog search based its view of greater “relevance” with emphasis on three factors -- links in/out of blog; meta data around the blog (average length of posts, post frequency, etc; and a semantic analysis of the posts themselves).This is not like Technorati, which determines a blog’s relevance based on the total number of unique links into that blog.
Tony Conrad is the CEO and co-founder of Sphere. Toni Schneider, an advisor to Sphere, is formerly the CEO of Oddpost, is currently the CEO of Automattic (wordpress.com, wordpress.org, etc.).
